FWC Wellness is proud to announce the release of the Residential Care Manual for Jamaica (KIR Ministries, Inc., October 2026), written by our founder, Fern J.A. Williams, from thirty years of licensed care home operation in Georgia, USA.
With the manual, a call has gone to Jamaica’s Government to modernise the care home law: “One Law for Every Branch of Care” — nursing home, assisted living, personal care home, hospice, adult day care, and home care — submitted today, October 18, 2026, to the Minister of Health & Wellness and to the Prime Minister of Jamaica.
At its heart is a Red Hills story: the founder’s grandfather, cared for in his own home in his old age through a care manager, a pharmacist, and Moore Funeral Home, where he himself had worked. His home in Red Hills, St. Andrew, has now been offered to the Ministry as a model pilot facility for the new system. Let his house teach the nation.
